The creative and fun loving team at Glenwood Care Center planned an entire week of fun events for National Rehab Week from September 16-22, 2019!
FRC Melea Delagrange and her team planned a fun week of events to celebrate National Rehab Awareness week. They started the week with a therapy ice- breaker and had a “Get To Know The Therapy Department” quiz with therapist related trivia questions that staff/ residents had to match to the therapist. Questions ranged from “who fosters animals in their spare time” to ” who regrets their tatoo”! Next they had a game to match the picture of the therapist to their discipline. For Wednesday, the team helped patients with a make and take project. Socks and sand filled zip lock bags were used to make soft weights for patients to use in thier rooms. Home Exercises were also provided to go along with the weights. (Velcro was used to close off the socks). On Thursday everyone enjoyed popcorn and a ball toss game. Friday featured walking tacos (remember “Let's taco'bout therapy” from last year at Glenwood), a giant Connect Four walll game and Rehab shirt raffles! What a great way to celebrate Rehab Awareness Week Melea and team! Thank you for all of your efforts and dedication to making theapy FUNctional! Additional photos will be in the next edition of the Arboretum.
As we prepare for the holidays, our hearts are full of Thanks Giving for our therapists and customers!
