In trying to meet the needs of a woman in Mary's facility who became resistive during upper body dressing (due to limited ROM), Mary found an adaptive clothing website. In order to help this lady recognize her own garments and preserve her limited funds, Mary took it upon herself to devise her own adaptive shirt. With snaps as closures at both shoulders, this shirt can be put on a person even while they are in bed. With careful planning, the individual only needs to roll once to move the fabric under them and be completely covered without causing any additional stress.
Mary's compassion for this lady and her initiative in creating this shirt are an outstanding example of some of the wonderful therapists at Arbor Rehab. Thank you Mary!
